YES I GO OUTSIDE! Not sure if it’s my pale skin or fear that the word “Studio” means I don’t, but I’m asked that often enough to state it wherever possible. 60% of my sessions are offsite, mostly with professional lighting (looks natural, but no “racoon eyes” common with “natural-only” shooters.

Cameraphobia? You’re not alone. I loathed it enough to practice my way out of it so that I could better direct my clients who share the same discomfort that I used to.

Welcome, I’m Brian Geraths.

I opened Studio B Photography on August 1, 1996 as Prints Charming Photography - a fun and “cute” name when I was primarily focused on weddings and young kids - but not quite the same fit for my most popular services of high school seniors and headshots. (which may soon be rivaled since adding 360 product photography to the mix.)

After receiving awards in several categories of professional competition (Illustrative, Black & White, Seniors, Kids, Family...), I stopped “competing” to focus more on personal development. This is the key ingredient to extracting authentic expressions. We’re all different, so my “bag of tricks” is not the usual photographer’s arsenal. (no sock puppets - sorry, not sorry.) The psychology degree I chose not to pursue didn’t keep my nose out of the DSM IV, never-mind traveling the country to enjoy thought leaders like Tony Robbins, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra & Marianne Williamson. (Hired to shoot most of them, but I knew the trade would serve me well - I never charged much on those gigs to make sure I could have better-than-VIP viewing : ^)

I opened the studio with my 401k from a career in retail merchandising and never looked back. In fact I brought much of my merchandising experience with me as a benefit to my commercial photography services. Headshots as well as branding & marketing photography grew to the point that I had a parallel business named Photo Media Productions before merging it with Prints Charming into one as Studio B Photography.

If you're searching for the lowest price, I won’t be your best fit. If you’re looking to gain something from your photo investment - search Google & Yelp for the REAL reviews that never complain about their results. My methodical left brain has allowed my creative right brain to thrive efficiently-enough to keep my rates in the sensible zone while producing images chock-full of 25+ years of full-time practice.

I look forward to a chance to share my lifelong accumulation of experience with you and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

More curious about the personal development stuff - (esp when shifting careers? - you might enjoy my other site.. - that’s where I hide my Limited Edition works)

Thanks for visiting…

Brian with my favorite of all teachers Dr. Wayne Dyer. (I study him even more since his “passing” than I did before meeting him).

My writing mentor-turned great friend and studio mate Graham Salisbury. Shortly after we attended Brendon Burchard’s High Performance Academy in San Jose CA, we did this writing workshop…

I’m not one to get star-gazed, but being this close to Tony Robbins is no less as energetic as it was to spend multiple days with him in New York at his “Unleash the Power Within” conference. (yes, I walked on fire). He know how to light up a room in ways I still try to replicate in my cameraroom. (HA) He’s a powerhouse!
